I recall the desperation to be believed on the faces of the many people who had made claims of seeing UFOs throughout the past three decades in the documentary films and TV shows we had all seen--and I wanted to believe them--due to their 'desperation to be believed.'

The problem, objectively speaking, was that we had only their word on the matter of their sightings from the people (credible people at that) who did not have a camera to take pictures of what they saw (before video camcorders): the enigma we call UFOs. Desperation on their faces--to be believed.

I wanted to believe them--because, . . secretly; I was one of them.

Three times, over the past 23 years, I have seen objects, which could not have possibly been any known earthly aircraft.

At the time of two of my sightings, I had an Instamatic camera in the glove box of my car with no film in it--then I had a broadcast TV 3/4-inch mini cam video camera on the seat of my TV news company car; my first day on the job. Each sighting was but for a few seconds--then the object just, disappeared . . .

I have since written a book PowerGlide, which includes in more detail of sheer amazement, the above sightings--coupled with where and when they were seen--and possibly--why they were seen. ESP? Yes, I knew of their desperation to be believed.

Then there were the many faked photos and hoaxed films of supposed UFOs since as far back as the early 1950s to contend with, which left a goofy negative impression on most objectively intelligent people--which led the majority of people, worldwide, to conclude that UFOs were the figment of the imaginations of "hair-brained crackpots." And the government has fueled that fire ever since to a blaze.

This brings us to the early 1990s and the wide-spread use of consumer camcorders. UFOs were being taped, mostly at night, and revealed strange colored lights within the blackness of the skies and nothing more than the testimonies of the people involved. Some were explained away--some were hoaxed--and some defied explanation, but for the words of the witnesses themselves.

In the winter of 1993, I bought an 8mm, 12x power zoom camcorder. I simply wanted to make some "home-movies" of a small town in Texas, and to try to relive my past life of being a TV news cameraman, writer and director. I shot two shoe boxes full of 8mm videotapes of wild west shows, rodeos, historic buildings, the wide open countryside, family and friends, my dog growing up from a puppy and learning hand signals--then came the evening of June the first, 1995 . . .

My twenty plus years of TV broadcasting, 1st Class F.C.C. license, degree in electronics, knowledge of astronomy--and the many books I had read on the topic of UFOs, could not have prepared me for what I would see with my own eyes--and would be captured on videotape. . .REAL UFOs.

But the media reported that it was a, "weather balloon." 'Roswell, . . all over again.

I was shocked. What I had seen and videotaped could not have possibly been a weather balloon. I studied the footage carefully, frame by frame, and coupled to what I had seen with the naked eye before I began videotaping, how could it have been just a big balloon remaining stationary in the night sky for well over seven hours, with more than four smaller objects zipping downwards and upwards from the larger object? 'Desperation to be believed' took on a new meaning for me. As the days passed, and my dreams were filled with the memories of the details and the colors of the gigantic UFO. "Who would believe me, over them?" I concluded.

But then there came the afternoon of June 11, 1995: A broad daylight sighting of a spacecraft from another world--and on videotape? YES!

After two weeks of extensive research, not only studying the footage objectively as a scientist, but also checking out every possible explanation under the sun and preparing a rigorously in-depth seven-page report: I filmed what the experts, almost one year later, would state as being, "the best-documented UFO footage in the world."

I must give credit where credit is due: Had it not been for Tim White of FOX-TV's show "Sightings," I would not have remained mindful enough to include the "fixed objects" of the treetops and the two-story house, as Mr. White had suggested on a show from a few years back. Remember, I was totally awe-struck at seeing this day-time UFO, and White's words and face were just about all I could be mindful of.

But how did I do this? Was it by pure chance that I was at the right place, at the right time with my camcorder, only ten days after the spectacular nighttime UFOs? Why was I drawn to the lake that Sunday afternoon of June 11, 1995, when I was actually driving out to the state park?

Those questions and many, many more are addressed within my book, "PowerGlide." It's not just a UFO book. But that's another story . . .

Peace in numbers--Jason.
