Andy Hadlington saw the mysterious blob silently hovering around and filmed it from the window of his office.

The mysterious grey object glided around the residential area of Knowle, Bristol, at 5.30pm on Sunday without making a sound.

UFO experts have been trying to verify the sighting and are hoping to speak to more witnesses and views of the eerie episode.

Computer game writer Andy, 36, said: 'It was the freakiest thing I have ever seen in my life. I was sitting in my office and saw it out of the corner of my eye.

We're not far from the airport so I thought it could even have been a low-flying plane, so I was quite alarmed'.

It was quite exciting…it sort of hovered past the houses. There was no sound. I ran downstairs and out of the garden to see where it went but I couldn't see anything.

'My fiancée was out at the time but I'm sure other people must have seen it. It was so clear'.

Denis Plunkett, of the British Flying Saucer Bureau, based in Winterbourne, near Bristol, was unable to comment on the video but said there were ways to verify its authenticity.

Mr Plunkett, 78, said: "There are ways to sort out good from bad. Firstly they are silent, there will be no noise.

They can also become invisible. They can go in and out of MoD radar. They can change speed, direction and height in seconds.

'The best thing is if there are multiple witnesses to the sighting. If more people saw this I'd be very interested'.

*Hmmm Simon,
...'Forecasts of things to come'/dreams, maybe 'spiritual awakenings', or eating cheese before bedtime? Still YES Dreams are damned interesting huh? Maybe we should 'DO' a Category on 'Dreams/Dreaming', share our Dreams and see what happens? Just a thought...but keep us posted on yours. Who knows, it could only be good for you...'As the Hippies would say'. Tah and thanks/'S'

Hmm, Sweeps, it might also be because it was in my mind to see the Star Trek film yesterday, which I did.

Just a possibility - the dream though was different enough to make such a connection rather tenuous.

Often said that I don't think what you think during the day influences your dreams - as my dreams are so totally off the roof -

and Bridget Bardot doesn't appear in any of them

*OK Seth,
...Too bad about 'Bridget'...know the feeling, but think we are all different in our 'Dreaming Makeup'/reasons/message-Matrix types/etc.
Many times...'THINGS' which come to mind, I CAN associate with what is dreamt during the night, that is...when I do sleep once in a while.
Sometimes I find 'Dream's...as 'problem solving', and others can be prophetic or 'off the roof' as well. Don't imagine that Dreaming has only one answer, and is probably very individually need based. At least I often hope so. Best...of course/'S'

*OK Simon,
...'Loose Connections' huh? Suspected that with you...NOT! Maybe let US ALL KNOW about the 'Star Trekkie' new Movie? Could help to see if we dream about it. Hmmm and thanks/'S'

Well Sweeps and everyone,

I'm not going to spoil it for you and say too much about the plot. But what I will say is that it makes the whole Star Trek scenario more believable. James T Kirk lives in a rural area, before he signs up to Star Fleet is a rural tearaway (watch the online trailers to see this) and in a scene reminiscent of the time when sailing ship sailors were on shore leave, visited local pubs and ended up in fist fights, he gets caught in one of these too - with a group of Star Fleets's new recruits.

The film has some moments of humour. Uhura and Spock are closer friends than ever seen before. The storyline involves time travel, terrible tragedy, and of course the good ship Enterprise. When the young Spock enters the Vulcan ship he has the most amazing (for him) welcoming reception, but I'm not explaining how or why. I'm still not sure what happened to the green skinned lady.

I wont say that the film has a happy ending, just that its predictable.

I saw it in a local cinema where the sound seemed to come from the front only. I went there because Tuesday is the 'bargain price' day, but if I had of known that it was not going to be in 'surround sound' I would have gone elsewhere. I might yet go and see it again, this time at the Imax theatre near to London's Waterloo station. This theatre has a very large screen and full surround sound. Its also much more expensive (the primary downside).
