POLICE NOW CAN USE 'DRONE' AIRCRAFT TO 'SPY' ON CITIES

…OK Folks, another 'Double Edged Sword' technology. Now the Police, who knows how many other agencies, will have a 'Spy In The Sky'….a Drone Aircraft which they can use for what? Well they might use THEM/Pleural for Covert assignments, for 'Normal' Policing of neighborhoods, Look into your cars/windows of homes/etc. Could they also use it for 'Nasty' other purposes? Of course. How about 'catching speeders' and issuing all kinds of 'Traffic and parking Tickets' after fly bys. Nah, of course not. We know how 'Sound' and safety caring and protecting of our Rights Police Agencies are…by experience. Should be some interesting Citizen reactions and Court case results popping up pretty soon/'S'

They had similar devices, used by a highly oppressive government and police force, on a Sci-Fi show called Dark Angel from about 10 years ago. Sci-Fi of the past is more and more becoming part of today's reality.

Is the programme that was set in a post-disaster US city (Seattle, perhaps)?

And there was a lady who was not human in the same way as most people?

btw, we have police choppers over our skies quite often - even at the small hours during the night / the police already use choppers to catch speeders, but only in the most severe cases as it is expensive. But they are used quite often to track and catch criminals fleeing the scene of a crime.

Hi Simon,
...Well yes, but 'DRONES' are cheaper/sophisticated/pilotless...and can operate almost 24 hrs. a day on LITTLE FUEL. Oh...they are coming to the UK & Europe/'S'

Sweeps, the name 'Dark Angel' comes to mind as possibly having been the title of the TV series.

Anyway, yes, drones are coming, as well as clones - many of which will be like robotic soldiers without emotion etc who will be more effective killing machines for TBTP.

Anyone know the term 'Borg'?

I also wonder how much of AVATAR is true - especially with respect to dispensible physical bodies...

...Good points. I'd suggest that ALL of these technologies are 'in the state of becoming' in one specification/form or another. The terrible problem we have with 'Technocrats' and the authority without approval nor oversight they have over all of us...is that NONE of them are 'accountable'. They are not publically transparent at all. What does the common world citizen do about that...out of their hands? Elected (?) governments don't even hold sway over them, nevermind investigate/control them. AND where are the 'VISITOR' hands in all this? Many questions which impinge or our very futures/survival. I believe that a 'more conscious' humankind will have to take matters into their own hands...in a revolution which is surely to come against ALL technology which is unaccountable. I can see a day when things will be 'torn down' in anger....both good and bad/'S'
