She has SEVERAL advanced degrees in PHYSICS & has worked as a researcher in Aero Space engineering. She worked at The Goddard Space Flight Center...and at NASA. Her work was on high tech projects, working with light sensitive detector equipment, which measured the various wave length bands of energy...in the electro-magnetic spectrum...coming from the Earth itself.
Her observations of this Earth energy, eventually led her into looking at similar energy FLOWS from the HUMAN BODY.

This new interest had also inclined her to pursue courses in psychology and psycho therapy. At this point Barbara had decided to resign from her government/NASA projects.
Subsequently, when actually starting to work with PEOPLE, she came to re-defined herself as a Bio-Energetic Therapist. She had surprisingly somehow, without technical aids, developed the ability to actually FEEL the flow of bi-electrical energy through the HUMAN BODY.
Even more eerie, she gradually began to SEE this bodily energy and its’ flow through bodies. This heightened new ability...while working with people in therapy...she now perceives to confirm the whole history of PSYCHICS claiming to work with the HUMAN AURA.
She also calls this…’The Human Energy Field’. This transition from technocrat/engineer to Psychic awareness of HUMAN AURAS…and their clouds of colorful energies…caused her to re-evaluate her entire concept/philosophy of what REALITY really is.
**There IS a ‘life force’ which operates through the Aura or spirit realm attachments and ‘interplays’ with the human body...and all life. It is recognized in most early cultures, as diverse as they were. Many of the ancient ‘healing arts’ worked at very deep levels…of the ‘Life Force’…to release ‘blocked energy’ in the body’s chakras, promote relaxation, release built up stress, and harmonize body energy centers and meridians.
It’s function and use as a ‘cure’ for disease is based on its’ ability to ‘set free’ the held in traumas from emotional causes. This type of emotional stress build up is considered the ‘root’ cause of human illness.
This claim is not extravagant or ill founded. Many of the ‘old’ arts have quite a successful following, and are growing in public awareness...again! Reflexology breaks up the crystal coverings of energy pathways in the feet to effect unblocking and balance, and acupuncture does ‘strange’ body relaxation and treatment...including anesthesia. The chakras and meridians which form our energy and balancing pathways have a distinct analogy to the ‘ley lines’ of energy pathways in the Earth itself.
When Barbara Brennan started her ‘Energy Field’ work in earnest…she had to ‘shift’ her reductionist/scientific world view to a more holistic embrace. Her new ‘working knowledge’ dispelled the traditional simple organic/mechanistic view of REALITY.
Working with…observing & feeling… these energy fields has shown her how to recognize healthy ‘flows’ or those of illness or impending illness.
She works/manipulates these ‘fields’ and Chakras to unblock and heal. Barbara sees colors which haven’t even been described/noticed by conventional understandings.
